12-team playoff in 2023 would've equalled a Georgia/Ole Miss rematch

I think that it would have been an interesting game. Middle of December. Ole Miss out for revenge. Jaxson Dart would've learned from his mistakes after previously making his first start in Sanford Stadium. The Ole Miss defense would've been hungry for blood too. I highly highly doubt that the Rebs would've given up both 300 yards passing and 300 yards rushing. They have way too much pride and talent for that. The Georgia/Ole Miss game last season wouldn't have been 52-17 and could've been closer if Ole Miss just gets a few more stops and converts a few more third downs on offense. I think that a second matchup probably would've been more competetive and more interesting.

Georgia would have been on a revenge tour as well. Would’ve been an ugly game

We lost our starting rt the week before the UGA game and then lost the lt the first drive. We didn't have the oline depth to recover from that.

Ole Miss also had a few pieces missing on defense too. If the Rebs D was at full strength I highly doubt that Georgia gets 300 yards rushing and 300 yards passing.

Outside of one circus catch, everything that could have gone wrong for us, did go wrong for us.

No.. no it wouldn’t
Becks uniform was basically spotless. We didn’t pressure him at all. It was a massacre

Pretty obvious that the committee would've swapped Ole Miss and Penn St in a 12 team scenario.

They’ve said they’ll avoid rematches where possible.
Outcome would not have changed if we had played but I think the rankings would’ve been slightly different.

Yep, they definitely would've swapped since you would've had 2 rematches in the same locations (Penn St @ Ohio St, Ole Miss @ UGA).

shite like this is so ridiculously overrated. It's meaningless.
We were much, MUCH better than them. The outcome almost surely would've been closer but we still would've won.

They seemed to make a rather definitive set of criteria today that doesn't include that. It would also be weird to have the rankings/seeds shuffled after week 5 just to avoid a rematch.
I am not saying they wont do this, and they probably should from a fan perspective, but from a competitive perspective, your seeding shouldn't be adjusted three spots to appease the fans and make for better television viewership.
CFP seeding criteria

The only thing favoring Ole Miss was having two weeks of rest. Nothing against Ole Miss, but UGA was on a different level last year.

It was pretty apparent when our lines were being manhandled throughout the game. Beefed up big time in the off-season to help close the gap

You might be on the clinically slow side
