The 1924 Alabama Crimson Tide football team was led by second-year head coach Wallace Wade and captained by future College Football Hall of Famer Pooley Hubert, one of the all-time great QBs and leaders in Alabama Football history. The 1924 version of the Tide finished 5-0 in Southern Conference play, clinching the Champ Pickens trophy, and 8-1 overall. Their only blemish was a baffling 17-0 loss to Centre College in the second-to-last game of the season.

1924 Alabama Crimson Tide football schedule

vs. Union (W) 55-0
@ Furman (W) 20-0
vs. Mississippi College (W) 51-0
vs. Sewanee (W) 14-0
@ Georgia Tech (W) 14-0
vs. Ole Miss (W) 61-0
vs. Kentucky (W) 42-7
vs. Centre (L) 0-17
vs. Georgia (W) 33-0

Yeah, WTF? I wasn't even sure where Centre College was. I was thinking...Centre, Alabama?

Wow. Hard to wrap my head around the football program being that successful for so long.

There would be a lot of "Horsefeathers!" and "Gee Golly's" on the 1920s version of the Bama Board.
