Why would he leave Alabama for kentucky? It's not like you can offer him more money than Alabama can. They can match you dollar for dollar and then throw a million on top of it.

Having top notch facilities is a given and not like pulling teeth
Don’t play second fiddle to football
One of a handful of dream college basketball destinations for a coach
Having said that, I don’t think Cal is going anywhere

UK is one of a handful of blue blood MBB programs that just about any coach would jump to. It's not a knock on Alabama's program. It's just reality. There's no comparison between the two programs' facilities, support, prestige, etc.

Uh, no. Kentucky is the "gold standard" Cal has said it a million times!

Same reason Deboer left Washington for Bama. Most college basketball coaches would leave their current job for UK

Basketball salaries really don't make sense so I wouldnt be so sure of this. Or actually they do make sense, the football market rate doesnt. Freeze has a higher salary than Pearl while only Pearl will need a statue one day.
2022-2023 list:
1 John Calipari Kentucky $8.5 million
2 Bill Self Kansas $6 million
3 Tom Izzo Michigan St. $5.7 million
4 Rick Barnes Tennessee $5.5 million
5 Bruce Pearl Auburn $5.5 million
6 Tony Bennett Virginia $4.8 million
7 Brad Underwood Illinois $4.6 million
9 Mick Cronin UCLA $4.1 million
9 Eric Musselman Arkansas $4.1 million
9 Buzz Williams Texas A&M $4.1 million
12 Dana Altman Oregon $4 million
13 Tommy Lloyd Arizona $4 million
14 Kevin Willard Maryland $3.9 million
Oats now makes 4.5 and I'm sure other escalators and incentives aren't included here. The market is fairly tight. Why in the world would Bama break the market rate just to keep Oats.

First of all - I do not think Cal is going anywhere at all. This is just message board babble.
That said, let me address your points:
Because Kentucky basketball is college basketball. They are the past, present, and future of the sport.
Alabama is barely a top 25 historical program that even their own fans and administration will not support.
Alabama does not belong in the same discussion as Kentucky regarding basketball. The gap is as wide as the gap between the two programs in football.
What????
Alabama won’t spend money on basketball and has proven it year over year.
They only care about football, spring football, recruiting for football and then they have interest in the Auburn, Kentucky, LSU, Arkansas, and Tennessee basketball games BUT ONLY if their team is ranked in the top 25.
If, big if, Kentucky offered the job to Oats - he would probably take a pay cut to go there. It’s a historical honor to be the head coach at Kentucky.

It's the same thing in reverse. You aren't Kentucky basketball. You aren't close. You will never be close. Just stop. They would take your coach if they wanted him, just like you'd take their football coach if you wanted him.
