What they got instead is a video clip that will live waaay beyond any pic. They got what they wanted and then some...and one dude almost got a permanent reminder of the occasion.

This. The media caused this because they wanted a picture of two iconic mascots and it almost caused a problem. I love live mascots, but people (media) need to leave them alone, and allow the fans to enjoy the mascots presence and allow the mascots some space to relax.
