I think coaches know that the NFL loves retreads. Once you're in, it seems as though you have to want to leave. Sure, you may have to take a demotion from HC to DC, like Dan Quinn, but apparently he's rehabilitated now and worthy of a new HC position.
After what happened in SBLI you'd think he'd never be a HC again. Hell... his defense in Dallas got torched by GB in the playoffs this season.

Not if you get fired after one year. I’m pretty shocked a first time defensive minded nfl head coach is taking someone who has never coached in the nfl and is giving him control of the offense. Will be interesting to see how it turns out
