Lanning buyout was $20 million, DeBoer's was only $12 million. DeBoer beat lanning head to head 3-0 in 2 seasons, despite having a large roster talent disadvantage to Oregon, because Cristobal was a great recruiter and left the pantry full at Oregon.
Lanning only has 2 years as a head coach period. DeBoer has 9 years as a head coach and only has failed to win at least 11 games in every season he's coached except 2 at Fresno, 1 of which was covid shortened

When an AD gets a coach within 48 hours, he got who he originally wanted. This AD of ours does his work ahead of time IMHO, he went out and got Bama a top Basketball coach, he is pretty good at this stuff.

Feldman said that as a result of A&M vetting him as a candidate it was discovered that he had a unique deal with Nike itself that awards him stock options that are tied to him staying as the Oregon coach, and the number for that was $30 million

What do you think vetting is? Of course there were phones calls. To multiple people. Jimmy Sexton is the agent for all these coaches. And he was in Tuscaloosa the entire time this went down.
