I agree on Milroe but when you point out his obvious flaws people start attacking you.
Milroe is the most complicated player I’ve ever seen play for Alabama.
He didn’t get any sort of player development from BOB who didn’t even think he was a QB. So is the lack of field awareness indicative of his limitations or does he just need an elite QB development guy to unlock his full potential?
His footwork is absolute trash. How much of his poor screen and slant game is fixed with just getting his feet right?
He’s the most athletic QB in the country… but he doesn’t like to run. This means he’s actually a terrible RPO QB because his reads are too slow due presumably to a lack of practice. If he embraces running to open up the passing game how damn good is he if they have to bite on the run fake?
He clearly made strides from UT to UGA, breaking into the Heisman race when the system was built around his skillset and he embraced running the ball.
That said failure to read defenses and adjust protection left half the passing playbook unusable and led to an unfathomable sack rate last year. There is no chance he can run the full DeBoer offense at the level of awareness he demonstrated last year, but if he figures out the mental part of the game he is legitimately an NFL MVP ceiling guy.
Total enigma.

This is the basic bottom line. Milroe was basically running the Nick Marshall offense when he was the barn quarterback. That is not the style that Grubb and DeBoer run. It will take a lot of time and effort for Milroe to get to where he can run this offense. Spring practice will be interesting to watch.

Similar to what he did at Fresno I would assume KD will adjust his offense to better suit the best players. I would imagine what we see in spring will be you figure out who those guys are, and the offense may not reflect what we run in the fall completely.
His Fresno days were much more run heavy and less QB centric compared to what you see in these videos with penix
We aren't really built to run what Washington did last year with the current makeup of the roster.
