So let me get this straight. You lose the best coach of all time. Ever. You lose a lot of players from the portal draft etc. and next season you will have a BETTER RECORD than last year AND MAKE it further in the playoffs than you did last year? Man, those crimson glasses are pretty thick aren’t they?
Reality check. I know it’s gonna be hard for some of you. Really hard. Because some of you think that there is gonna be no drop off after a roster and coaching change. You are just gonna joyless murderball the entire country. Ok then. But mark my words. You are closer to 7-5 than you are 12-0. Not even saban won 8 games in his first year. Let’s temper the expectations just a fuzz shall we? There’s gotta be growing pains. That’s just a fact. Just take a look at my team. We are loaded everywhere, and just made the playoffs, but I think we will take a step back because of the new conference we will be entering. I have some pretty thick burnt orange glasses myself, but I’m a realist. I see things the way they are and not just some roll tide Willie, we are gonna steam roll everyone’s arse by 30 we play bullshite. Sorry ain’t gonna happen.

DeBoer has a pretty solid track record of turning things around quickly. He was part of turnarounds at Indiana, Fresno State, and of course Washington. This is the first time he inherits a solid foundation. I don’t think it’s too lofty to expect a 10-2 regular season and potential playoff appearance.
The offensive staff is a massive upgrade. The defense is wait and see. Still a lot of talent left on the roster despite the hysteria over portal deflections.

I’m a realist. There’s absolutely every reason to expect us to take a step backwards this fall. I predict that we WILL lose at least two regular season games and not win a conference championship this year. We will barely get into the 12 team playoff. Then Coach DeBoer kicks the college football world square in the nuts as we win it all.
