Seems to be working fine for the ones college is supposed to work for: the students.

Ultimately this is all the fault of the adults, and here’s how to fix it:

1. Don’t give employees fricking nine figure contracts to teach an extracurricular activity at an institution of higher learning. Pay them comparable to a senior professor or something.

2. Don’t give players money if they ask for it. Be willing to lose because of it.

If winning is so important that you can’t say no to coaches and players with their hands out, then they are fairly taking advantage of your obsession with their very rare ability to provide what you want - and I don’t blame them.

I’m a major supporter of NIL opportunities, but I’m not going to donate a cent to any collectives because I don’t live or die over college kids playing football.
