Bama online right now makes it sound like Grubb/DeBoer liked Austin Mack more - saying they felt deep conviction for Mack.

It could be but a lot of deflection going as well. I have to believe it was mutual to some extent with both parties. Sayin just now leaving makes me believe him and his family spoke with DeBoer and after that both parties decided to depart.

Maybe Mack was brought in because DeBoer knew Saying was leaving or maybe DeBoer already had plans to bring in Mack and spoke with Sayin about it to let him know which triggered Sayin to the portal. I do not believe DeBoer did not want Saying but wanted to have a solid QB room to choose from..

Sayin is also 6'1. Mack is 6'6. DeBoer has also already reached out to 2025 Tennessee QB commit George MacIntyre who is 6'5.5. He seems to like the taller QBs so maybe Sayin is just not a good fit for what DeBoer wants to do.

Yeah and Bama fans are saying DeBoer told Sayin to leave

If so, its piss poor QB management. Mack is a true freshman and you don’t push out the QB you just brought in, especially when he was the top prospect in the nation.
