This is pretty well thought out, but I honestly see no reason the SEC should go to 9 conference games. Most of the conference already schedules at least one attractive P5 OOC game (looking at you, Aggies), and you still have the 3 smaller home games.

Until TV agrees to pay for it, there's no reason to give 8 conference teams an additional loss.

Understood. The 3/5 schedule would work the exact same way as the 3/6 schedule with one minor tweak.

You would play perms every year (same as 3/6)
6 teams every other year (same as 3/6)
6 teams 2x every 6 years (little different)



So something like this..
same schedule, you just drop 1 team from your schedule each year, 6 different teams over a 6 year period. Those 6 teams would be different for everyone. They are gray above just selecting teams at random that might make sense.
