He is a winner. I think he will be.

But winning 10 games wasn't enough for Georgia or LSU. Why? Because of Saban. Will it be enough for the coach who replaces Saban, especially if someone else is better year in and year out in the conference?

Last weekend Bama fans were talking about how much improvement they expected to see over the past three seasons. They just won the conference twice. They probably have reduced those expectations a little based on what's happened this week. But still, that's an awful high bar to get to. You can be a very, very good coach and not reach it.

LSU was in a much worse spot than Alabama is currently and a lot of Bama fans have trashed BK for "only" going 9-3.

Going by that, DeBoer is only afforded 1 loss, 2 tops.

The 12 team playoffs makes a big difference now. Hell, Saban was afforded at least one loss. That's really all any team could have that wanted to make the 4 team playoff. Now, depending on which team a loss comes to and when, a 3 loss team can still make the 12 team bracket.
