I get that, but the whole part of a safety squeeze is that you go back if it's not put down correctly. Aloy wasn't running on the pitch, but treated it like it was a suicide after the fact. Just a weird sequence.

The runner has to come down the baseline far enough to score. The point is to make the third baseman field the ball so he is forced come up the line in front of the runner to make the play. . Then he has to choose to take the out at first or keep the runner from scoring. . If you bunt it to first the third baseman can stay behind the runner and the runner is hung out to dry. It was a terrible bunt for a safety squeeze.

Yeah it a was perfect bunt for a hit if Aloy goes back. C can't leave behind plate and 1B is fielding it full sprint towards home.
