Is it any different than the LSU hundred dollar handshakes on national TV in 19? Or the stealing from a children’s hospital by LSU to pay players? Or the REC blatantly getting them calls? Or the Saban dodge Charger thing? Of the NIL deal by Bama in suit stores? Of UGA killing a couple folks drunk racing? Or selling books and jerseys? Or Bennett not being academically eligible but still playing? Or Pruitt and his massive idiotic cheating but no other programs having to sit ineligible players?

Is it really that different?

It's all technically cheating but cheating to fill your roster is something everyone does to a degree and can still be overcome by coaching. It feels much more like violating an NCAA rule and less like cheating on the field or rigging the event.

Cheating by stealing signs, or playbooks feels a whole lot different. Much more like real cheating. Like a runner showing up during the last leg of the marathon and "winning" versus team nike outbidding team adidas for the best runners but otherwise both teams competing fairly during the race.

One type of cheating is about breaking the rules on how you get those players/runners. It's sliding someone an extra 100 dollars to win their favor and them on your team. It's basically influencing the player to play for your team. Whereas the other type is flat out rigging the game/race. The latter feels a lot more wrong to me.

I just don't count it as a win for them.
There are no Rocky movies after IV.
There are 2 Godfather movies.
There was no NC awarded in college football for the 2023 season.

Because it wasn't that big of a deal and they went on to win it all.

People who post like this usually don’t understand much.

I understand the end don’t justify the means here. I understand you’re supposed to be developing boys into young men not teaching it’s ok to cheat as long as we win at the end. I understand college football isn’t all about winning at any cost. At least it shouldn’t be. That’s why college football is where it is today.
