I won’t argue that Milroe doesn’t need to improve. He definitely does. But where is the confidence in Simpson as a quick processor & great reader of defenses? It seems like if that were true he’d have won the job last offseason. The arm talent is there.

You also would’ve thought that with Tua-Jalen but it took until the last thirty minutes of the season to do something.

I just find it hard to believe that Simpson, a coaches son, who makes those line adjustments and reads on tape is going to come out and struggle with them or hold the ball longer than Milroe. If that’s true, then our QB’s have never coached a second outside of games

I also don’t doubt Lonergan pushes Milroe this offseason either based on the spring game last year and practice reports.

Milroe doesn’t have the benefit of Saban being carefree of criticism and time to learn. DeBoer will need to win and keep winning off the bat. That’s why I have heavy doubts we trot Milroe out again with a whole offseason of tape for teams to prep with.

They say we cant judge that he was bad in completing 11 out of 20 passes but they can tell that he was great, and that Milroe is gonna have to improve a lot to beat him out for the starting job again!
