It’s about value. You don’t offer the dude with nowhere close to the same resume as the goat almost the same salary on an 8 year term. That’s next level desperation and if that’s how you think I’d want you nowhere near a negotiation table for a used car, let alone something this significant

I mean those are two entirely different things. I don’t care what the school’s profit margins are, I just want them to win football games, and to do that you need a top level coach, and if we have to shell out for one then we should do it. We have more than enough funds, and boosters with more money than they even need can contribute if they want us to stay at the top of the sport.
