I promise this is the last time I'll say this:

If the QB holds the ball a long time he is likely to take a lot of sacks.

Our QB held the ball longer than any QB in the league thus he was sacked a lot.

It wasn't all on this OL. They played well at times, and have a lot of talent everywhere but center.

This is also an OC problem. Once this became a theme you have to make adjustments to get the ball out faster, or roll the pocket, or give some eye candy to slow down rushers.

True

What’s also true is half the season Milroe was retreating 10 yards deep in the pocket and taking sacks on wide angle pass rushes that no one should ever take, especially a mobile QB who can exploit the loss of gap contain.

Expecting a TF LT to protect elite edge guys when you aren’t stepping up in the pocket is death for an offense.

+1

But other quarterbacks had the same thing happen. At times, it was like watching sh*t through a tin horn ... even on the afternoon against Michigan.

Both can be true.

We had the worst pass-blocking O line Saban has ever had at Bama, and one of the worst in the country this year. Not sure why some want to blame everyone but the o line. Not to mention a C who couldn't snap it accurately or on time.

Do you have any stat to back up your claim that Milroe held onto the ball longer than any other QB? Cause he got sacked a lot before he even had time to throw the ball.
