I hear you on this. Frankly, more than a few of the people we acted to keep at my company eventually left anyway (but we did retain them at the time we felt was critical).

What makes sense in your own life experience doesn't relate.
P5 coaches aren't like us and they don't have expectations like us. In most cases, they'll change jobs every 2 years anyway. Either they suck and get fired, or they're really good and they get offers.
