Starting in 1995-99 at Mich St Saban went

6-5
6-6
7-5
6-6
9-2 which he parlayed into the HC job at LSU in 2000

8-4
10-3
8-5
13-1
9-3 which he parlayed into the HC job at the Dolphins where depending on how you look at it did not end well.

Saban did not mature and become the all knowing unbeatable force that he became until he joined up with Alabama. Since then he has been the best to do it of all time.

My guess is Kiffin is on an extremely similar trajectory, and once he is given the resources and brand name Alabama has to offer while also maturing and learning from all his past experiences he will become the best coach in college football. He's a football guy. It means a lot to him, and much like his father his understanding of the game is very instinctual.

I think Kiffin at Bama with all those resources and 5 stars on sideline would be hell on wheels.

I like Kiffin but Kiffin is nothing like Saban they aren't comparable.

Also Saban won a NC at LSU in his 9th year as a HC. Kiffin has been a college HC for 10 years and his best win is the Peach Bowl last week.

Saban did not mature until Bama

I have to disagree here. He never had a maturity problem. Or center of attention problem.
