He won 24 games in three years in Nashville.

He would at least make bowl games

Vandy would be Kentucky then.

They would be better but to what end? Vandy will never win the SEC, go to the playoff, or win the national title.

he would have never survived the court decision that found 3 of his 4 players guilty of aggravated rape and the 4th facilitating aggravated rape -
he left before it all went to trial - before he would have been removed as coach -

Then Auburn would have comfortably won the trophy for worst football program in the SEC the last few years.

Franklin brought some legitimate talent to Vanderbilt, but he also realized how much work that was and how much steeper the gradient was to the next level.

Franklin isn't a good coach.

Franklin made Vandy a tough out for sure. Back then there were 3 coaches overachieving in the SEC East. James Franklin at Vandy, Steve Spurrier at South Carolina, and Gary Pinkel at Missouri. Those 3 coaches made Tennessee, Georgia, and Florida have down years.
My biggest what if is if Urban Meyer had stayed at Florida. All those SEC Championship Games Between Saban's Alabama and Meyer's Florida would have been epic.
