There is nothing more pathetic than a fan base continually begging for another fan base to acknowledge them as a rival. The only reason we even entertained the notion was because of the Saban connection. When Texas and Oklahoma get into the conference next season, both schools will immediately supplant LSU in the rivalry pecking order due to the fact that they make better natural rivals than LSU. Both schools are considered blue bloods, both have long histories of winning games and championships, etc.
And for the record, I'm absolutely thrilled that Jayden Daniels won the Heisman as it makes our win over LSU look even better with hindsight. Also add to the fact I thought he was the best player in college football this season and it isn't difficult to understand why I'm not melting over last night's ceremony.

He played as a back-up in 2020 and won a national championship ring while a member of that team.

This is wild. It's like they've forgotten that Daniels lost to Bama and we have no reason to be upset. I could understand the gloating if Bama had a player runner-up in the standings, but it doesn't make much sense otherwise.
