Will some of you LSU fans ever learn. Listen, I despise most of what is in Alabama (there are exceptions to everything, posters like Summer of George remind me they are not all Bedford Forest/Stonewall Jackson worshipers), the state, most of the people, the culture, the fact that the league office is in Birmingham and is somewhat under their influence. That is one SEC road game I will never attend (Ole Miss is the other one).

I will even go further, that will likely piss off even some LSU fans (the neo confederate types), too bad General Sherman didn't pivot from GA and take out Alabama and then head over to MS and do the same damn thing.

With all that said, Saban as much as I despise that little SOB is the Bama football teams coach. And since he is the Bama football teams coach, they are going to beat Michigan and play Texas for it all. In a rematch game, very hard to beat him so all you LSU fans saying you will get the last laugh, you might want to check that.

If you were as smart as you think you are, you’d know that by the time Grant turned Sherman loose in Georgia, the war in Mississippi and Alabama was basically over. You ever heard of Corinth, Grand Gulf, Port Gibson, Raymond, Champions Hill, Vicksburg?
Your timeline is off!

No, he still had time to do some damage in AL and MS. He did not cross into South Carolina till just after Christmas I think it was, Lee did not surrender till April. He had 3 months to cut across there, more if after he got through Atlanta he did not go to Savannah.

I don't have any of my old history books handy. You seem to be up on the Civil War, I get you know which regiments your relatives fought in and what battles, which Union regiments they engaged with, etc, etc.

I can’t believe in the aftermath of being eliminated I’ve had such a good time watching a melt. I think my lifelong hate for FSU has helped.

He marched through Alabama on his way to Georgia. Union troops burned down Alabama's campus.
