Last week’s rankings had FSU #4 and Texas #7

FSU beat #14. Texas beat #18

What’s the excuse given to jump Texas over FSU? Why do they put out rankings before the final week if they don’t mean anything?

Because Alabama beat Georgia, so Bama gets in. But Texas beat Alabama, so Texas has to get in too. That seems to be the only logic that explains the results.

It's pretty hilarious that Alabama AND Texas jumped FSU and somehow only Alabama is the one being yapped about.

If Alabama loses to Georgia and the final spot is down to Texas/FSU......Texas would have gotten that spot.

Why are people so upset about Bama jumping FSU but not Texas?

Because Texas gets in anyway. Bama is the one that would’ve been left out

Agreed. And aside from myself, I haven't seen anyone talking about Washington being somehow guaranteed a spot for being undefeated when FSU had the better schedule with the same record.

And let's talk about Michigan too. They had one hard game, vs OhSt. Maybe call Penn St a hard game? Who did Mich play out of conference? Any P5 team?

It wasn't necessarily Bama, or Texas that stole FSU's spot. Let's look at Mich and Wash too.

This sort of stuff is all going to play out starting next year and people in other leagues aren't gonna like the consequences.

Give teams with the best players and very good coaches 4 weeks to prepare and the cream is gonna rise to the top. And the cream is gonna be 2-3 SEC teams most years.

Texas ran Okie State out of the stadium. They could have named their score.

FSU had its second consecutive struggle win.

The teams are "reportedly" looked at week to week without regard for the prior week. Also, in the final poll, the committee supposedly forces itself to consider all of its criteria for comparative teams. Obviously, they thought Texas and Bama were better.

I can see that argument, but it loses steam if you keep them behind UGA and tOSU unless the championship truly outweighed the non-champion teams.

Eye test is greater than on the field results effective immediately.

I think Washington has a top 10 SoS.

Any explanation
this was more about the ACC than Bama or Texas. If LSU just beat GA with one loss, they would be in over FSU.

ESPN wanted Bama in because of money. Only way to get Bama is was to put Texas in as well. It’s very simple.

But an undefeated fsu is ahead of Georgia, but not good enough to be ahead of one loss bama and Texas? The logic is not logical.

You have the right of it. Everyone's focused on BAMA but it's Texas that jumped FSU without much reason given. And it's obvious as to why -- tv dollars.

The Big 12 Championship is worth more than the ACC Championship
