A multi billion dollar sport with no clear path to a title. Criteria is undefined, subjective, and subject to change from year to year, so nobody can ever know exactly what the committee will look for in deciding playoff spots.
But somehow the big money brands consistently get in, while smaller brands don't.

The BCS system had at least some impartiality with the computers, but everybody hated that, too.
Washington isn't one of the bigger money brands.
FSU, Georgia = smaller brands? What?
I actually think the committee did pretty well given the circumstances, other than the fact that they let Michigan in. Several of their wins this season are tainted and will likely be vacated. They should have been out by default.

Now fast forward to next season SECCG when the REC meets to decide who will play Bama... No divisions.
