Leaving a db one on one in that scenario is the opposite of putting them in a position to be successful, especially when the qb and receiver have infinity time to get set up in an advantageous position

Three guys followed one man into the middle. Puckett should have stayed outside with James. James should not have been face guarding in that situation either. Execution failed. Not excusing the call of only rushing two with a spy, should have at least had all three rush if not 4, but our back end failed at executing the play as called.

A better play call would have been having all 11 in the endzone. 5 on the goaline and 6 on the back line. If he takes off and runs, everyone come up and make the tackle. If he gets in like that, I would tip my hat to Milroe and go about my life. The call was just plain stupid.

I would have to see the whole play but I’m not convinced we were in man to man and even if we were you still had extra guys back there. That’s why I believe we were in position to be successful.
