Solid excuse. Which one you think is next? They were gonna fire Pittman but he needed another year to finish the remodel on his lake house?
Hunter thought maybe he should fire him but he didn't know what to do? Worked for Sam so why not.

No one reached out expressing interest in the job, so safest option was to keep Sam.
