Second year as head coach at any level. Kelly went 10-12 his first 2 seasons as a HC at a FBS school playing a MAC schedule. Smart was 18-7 playing a SEC schedule. Comparing Smart to any coach after that coach was a HC for many years is apples to oranges. It’s doubtful ANY coach has ever accomplished what Smart did in his first 2 years as a HC at any level….or in their first 7 years.
