You are implying that on offense we are more likely to be scored against than scoring ourselves. That is absurdly stupid.

It’s only absurdly stupid to you because you obviously don’t understand. When you have the ball, you can control the clock. If you are at midfield with a minute left and it is 3rd down and you are in position to run the clock down, you do so. If you get the first down, you have time to run plays down to zero. If you call the timeout, you have a chance to give the other team the ball back with time to score. The way Smart plays it, he significantly reduces the chances of the other team ending the half with a score and puts us in a spot to be the only ones who realistically can score. If the game is close or we have a lead, you are reducing most realistic chances of the other team going into the half with some momentum and a cheap score.

False.

It was 2nd and 17 (due to penalty) with 1:00 left in th half from UGA 48.

Beck to Lovett for 7 yards to Ole Miss 45. Makes it 3rd and 10.

Kirby allows 45 seconds to roll off the clock before calling a TO with 12 seconds left.

Then we call a play that results in another Beck to Lovett pass for 17 yards to the Ole Miss 28.

But then there's only 7 seconds left.

And instead of running out the FG unit to top off the tank, we all of a sudden, out of nowhere decide to be aggressive, and that's when the pick came.

But as you say, thankfully ole miss only had 7 seconds on the clock. As if that dumb shite was planned.

That was piss poor clock management. Maybe I'm dumb, but Carson Beck himself was yelling at the sideline "what the frick are we doing?" during this 9 dimensional chess.
