I have a feeling they’re going to go after Dan Lanning and I doubt he would bomb.
If A&M wanted to go after a top Pac 12 coach, why not go after Kalen DeBoer instead? Oregon’s one of those self-sustaining programs at this point. Three of their previous coaches, Chip Kelly, Willie Taggart, and Mario Cristobal all did well at Oregon and then haven’t done too hot after leaving to coach elsewhere. DeBoer took over a Washington team in disarray and turned them into a top 10 team instantly.

Also, no point in letting Lanning prove himself in the SEC because he'll just end up being Alabama's HC when Saban retires in that scenario.

it would take way too much to get someone to leave Washington OR Oregon this year, since they are going B1G next year
I can't see a reason for either coach to leave; especially for a toxic situation like aTm

You’re insinuating that Washington isn’t a program that is capable of being sustainable or can’t or hasn’t accomplished anything in the recent past. I know I don’t have to remind you, but I will anyway. Washington was in the CFP 2016. In 7 years they have 4 division titles, 2 conference titles, and a birth in the CFP with a 2 year stretch of a wrong choice of coaches. Add that to moving to the B1G next season.
I get the SEC bias, but it’s not like Washington isn’t some has been, no name program.
And barring any upset next week, they’re more than likely to win another conference championship and make another appearance in the CFP.
I don’t know what it is about Oregon and why they can’t keep head coaches though. They have an enormous bankroll and can probably do what they want. I wonder if it’s meddling from the bankroll.
