Kelly is a .700 coach. There is a huge body of work to see that. He will continue that. A tiger doesn’t just change his stripes. Kelly has a very high floor, he probably will never go worse than 7-5. But he also has a low ceiling, he probably will never go better than 10-2. Most years he will chug along at 9-3 or 8-4, right at his average.

Remains to be seen. There's a reason Notre Dame hasn't been relevant since the '80s. They have refused to change with the times and invest in their program like many others have. Kelly was the only coach who gave them a chance to win a natty since then, and he got his arse kicked because Saban had much more talent than him. He's in a situation now where he can recruit the talent it takes to win. Whether he puts all the pieces together remains to be seen. First step is overhauling the defensive staff after this season. His hires will be key. Saban, Miles and Orgeron didn't have stellar records before they came to LSU.
