Having a mental health issue is no excuse for being absent. Communicate with your boss about the issues and they will understand. You can't just not show up or fulfill your responsibilities. This is a learning lesson for him hopefully.

This. Most likely was an excuse by a weak minded individual to get out of doing work

I don’t know why it’s not in the transcript, but Kiffin says that he did communicate and said he wasn’t ready to talk about it with the coach yet
