AU and Tenn commits were the intended audience for his quote

He only used "relative" twice in those quotes. Guess he's trying to cut back.

Anyone think Saban is lowering expectations in case the Tide gets blown out in it's next 2 games. If that happens and he goes 5-7 next year he could be gone. I agree with what he says. Croom was a great coach at Miss State. Who are they gonna replace him with, Mike Leach? Maybe Fulmer will go to State, that would not surprise me.

This is nothing new for Saban. He has made comments like this before when coaches have been let go.

As a matter of fact, when in Miami denying he would be the Alabama coach he commented about how Shula was a good coach only one year removed from 10 wins and was done wrong by the Alabama administration.

So when he says "I guess we're one 5-7 away from the same thing" he believes it.

Ask Nick his opinion after he got to Alabama and saw the state of the program and the condition and attitude of the players.

Do any of our rivals realize how poorly conditioned our players were? Those are the type of things I fault Shula for. And I don't understand it.

I know that this is a recruiting move, but Saban is right. Expectations can get out of control and many fans can totally bash a coach for not winning every game 55-0. And firing a coach like Tubby after one bad season is just wrong (almost as bad as Ole Miss firing Cutcliffe) He's also trying to get Bama to lower their expectations because after this season, their expectations will be back to winning a NC or bust.

Yeah, I think Saban is scared and knows he's gonna get blown out by florida and a team yet to be named in a bowl game. That's Saban, always coaching to not get blown out

no way that was Saban talking. he didn't use the term "in terms of". so, i don't believe it.

Why didn't he feel the same way about his LSU relationships when he bolted for Miami? So coaches can leave whenever they want but administration can't fire the coaches? BS Saban, shut your potty mouth
