Holy cow, I just listened to the CFB Nerds video and they said the same thing I tried to explain
Given Alabama’s defense, and LSU’s defense, a solid and consistent offense would make the game REALLY difficult for LSU. You get to a certain level of solid, consistent offense and you’re probably scoring on every possession against LSU.
But Alabama doesn’t have that. It’s still going to be boom or bust. And that’s why it’s a bad matchup. No matter how bad LSU’s defense is, Alabama WILL have some busts in there. And Milroe will probably launch one towards an LSU player a time or two. And we’ll probably have some bad sacks and blown up run plays. All things that a solid offense can absolutely erase against an LSU defense THIS bad.
ETA: And the other guy just mentioned a threaded needle bullet first down to Burton where Tenn blitzed and left our TE completely alone for an auto first down. Milroe never looked at it even though it’s QBing 101.
An inch any direction on the pass and we’re punting instead of moving forward with a first down.
THAT’S exactly what I mean when I say we don’t do the things that take advantage of LSU being so bad. In that same scenario against LSU, we won’t be getting the auto first down and we’ll be leaning on that pass being competed the same way. Our offense negates the advantage an offense should have against LSU and turns us right back into book or bust. And because of that, there will be plenty of busts unless we just come out and play the best offense we’ve played all year.

I agree with this and it's my biggest fear in this game. We can go 3 and out against air between penalties, one on one whiffs in pass pro from the LT, missed blocks in the run game leading to 2nd and 9 and bouts of inaccuracy from our QB.

Not nearly as concerned about this.
I think we're gonna score 31-35 points. Our defense is going to have to play elite football for 4 quarters to hold them below that.
