We won.

On MSU drive they spotted the ball generously on a fourth and short.

Did he clearly make it?

Just watching I thought he was short. Official on other side marked it way forward to my eye.

I have noticed SEC officials are using ball spotting a lot and against Auburn they have developed a cottage industry of bad PI calls, offensive and defensive..

Maybe they think bama will need the help

They slowed down the replay I thought he got it pretty easily even though I initially thought he was short

me too .....

I still watch the officiating crews working Auburn games in the season. Still convinced they are not permanent crews. Patchwork crews ....

UF got royally fricked yesterday. Ruling in the field was a first down. The spot was reviewed - there was clearly not enough to overturn the call. It was inches if not centimeters close on the spot. They ruled him short, and then spotted the ball a full yard short of the sticks. They went for it and got stuff, UGA got a short field and scored - this was when UF was winning in the first quarter. Terrible call completely changed the game

to be fair, the one game I saw in person (Samford) I was surprised by how good they were (save for one horrendous PI call)

otherwise its been horribly bad for years now, practically every game in every conference

What did Birmingham say about the spot? the replay official in the stadium is not making that call, Birmingham is. I like the XFL and USFL stance......They discuss what they are seeing on the air. The public hears what prompted their decision.

Everyone gets graded after the game.

Remember, they review every play. The problem with pile ups is in seeing the ball and ball carrier through all the bodies. For example a straight off guard or tackle at the goal line ....you can hear the umpire yell "He's In, He's In!" That tells the wings that the ball crossed the goal line. Pylon cameras don't work .....I think the overhead cable camera should have a say ....
