It will be Ole Miss vs Mizzou in the SECCG. Another one of the signs of the apocalypse we are seeing in the world. Predicted in the Book of Revelation.

Last years SEC championship was a joke but this year... watching Jaden Daniels play is such a pleasure, I'll have to hope it is LSU if Bama doesn't win out.

They would have a great chance of beating UGA.

PS - Though LSU has already committed a sin by making Joey Freshwater relevant. It's their fault [by losing] - no one wants to get rid of the fraud.

As will Bama and LSU.

Out of conference losses are irrelevant.

Sure. It’s just a possible scenario right now. It’s not probable though. That is why “if” is a possibility in this context. If OP said “when” instead of “if” then it would make it plausible.

Who wins the hotdog eating contest if Joey Chestnut doesn't?

Ole Miss still has to play GA.

The word if is in the thread title.

Honestly in this situation ole miss is probably a massive winner because they would have beaten UGA and would still get in from the couch

I’m looking forward to watching that matchup.

And ole miss, bama and lsu all win out after that

quote:

2. Three-Team Tie (or more): If three teams (or more) are tied for a division title, the following procedure will be used in the following order: (Note: If one of the procedures results in one team being eliminated and two remaining, the two-team tiebreaker procedure as stated in No. 1 above will be used):

A. Combined head to head record among the tied teams;

B. Record of the tied teams within the division;

C. Head to head competition against the team within the division with the best overall Conference record (divisional and non divisional) and proceeding through the division (multiple ties within the division will be broken from first to last and a tie for first place will be broken before a tie for fourth place);

D. Overall Conference record against non divisional teams;

E. Combined record against all common non divisional teams;

F. Record against the common non divisional team with the best overall Conference record (divisional and non divisional) and proceeding through other common non divisional teams based on their order of finish within their division; and

G. Best cumulative Conference winning percentage of non-divisional opponents (Note: If two teams' non-divisional opponents have the same cumulative record, then the two-team tiebreaker procedures apply. If four teams are tied, and three teams' non-divisional opponents have the same cumulative record, the three-team tiebreaker procedures will be used beginning with 2.A.);

In your scenario:

A. All 3 teams are 1-1 vs each other, move to B

B. All 3 teams have 1 West Division loss

C. Bypassed - doesn't apply to ties between 1-loss teams

D. All 3 teams are undefeated against everyone else, making this one moot

E. Same as D

F. Same as D

G. Now we hit the East opponents:

Alabama: Tennessee, Kentucky
Ole Miss: Georgia, Vandy
LSU: Florida, Missouri

Using current records, LSU's East opponents have the best combined record (5-2), then Alabama (4-3), then Ole Miss (4-4). Ole Miss, with the worst combined East W/L record, is eliminated. Then you switch to the two team tie-breaker, but in this case that's easy - in your scenario, LSU has beaten Alabama and therefor goes to the SECCG.

That could change, of course - if, for example, all 3 teams end up with East winning % that are identical, then there's a coin flip.

Each step is there to eliminate one team, then you start over with fewer until there's just two. Then you use the two team tiebreaker system until you meet the criteria for just one.

Technically all 3 teams "win" the SEC West, but LSU is the only one that is granted the opportunity to win the SEC entirely.

This is a massive assumption. OM is not beating UGA.

It will simply be the winner of LSU vs Bama like it always is.
