I'm not sure we should be renovating a 100 year old stadium....that concrete is old and should be nearing its lifespan in the next 3 decades. Why build on top of/around that?

Agreed, I wish they would bulldoze it and start over.

Fwiw the original lower bowl from the 1920s is concrete poured on granite inside the former Quarry. All subsequent construction is anchored on the rock shelf outside the original bowl, and transfers no load to the Earlier concrete.
