I agree the portal is a game changer but we aren't the kind of prorram that shoudl be coach searchign every 3 years. This is the best footing we've beenon in a while and it doesn't make sense to throw it away and cross your fingers it'll improve. People constnatly poitn to SC and what they're doing while ignoring that they've been ina much better place than us the last decade. They wen tot a final 4 less than 10 years ago and have only had a losing conference record twice in that same time. They can sell people on actual results while we're mostly selling on potential.

YOu talk abotu "turning around" a program, if that's not what White is doing thenI dont' know what else you'd call it. We had 47 wins overall and had 15 total SEC wins in 4 years of CRean. In barely 1.5 years under White we have 30 total wins (well past the same pace) and have 10 SEC wins with at least 1 more to come this year and likely several.

I obviously don't need to educate your on our basketball history. "Turning around" for us is exactly what's happening. Turning aroudn doesnt' mean making tourneys by year 2.

I think the opposite. If we were duke or kentucky if they go a couple years of bad seasons they can cut bait because they'll have a line out the door to choose from after. We are basically the equivalent of mississippi state football we don't have the luxury of firing someone every couple years then having a better replacement. What coach worth a damn is going to come to a program like ours knowing that he'll be fired in 3 years if we don't do something that we've rarely ever done the last 30 years anyway?

Disagree. I think if we geton solid footing we are far more attractive to portal peole. Yes I'm sure money is a massive factor. But if I'm an elite portal guy looking around and have my pick of schools, why would I look at UGA if 1)the coach changes every few yeras, and 2) they're constantly in flux? If we are a decent program that can constintly finish in the top half of the SEC it'd look a lot better destination.

not if you have consistency. Take this yera's roster, if we keep a core demery/cain/RJ that's a great buliding block into next year. IF decided this year (we won't, just hypothetical) to fire white we lose all those guys and have to start over. My whole point is that even with massive roster turnover yearly, you at least give yourself a higher floor of a foundation by not changing the entire staff every couple years.

anyoen watching the program can see that we're a better team, that's the change. And I mean shite the guy hasn't even finished his 2nd year for crying out loud! Mcgarity was content to be a frickign bump on a lot and let fox and stricklin ahve lifetime contracts but Brooks cut bait wiht crean after 4 yeras. In less than half that amount of time we already look exponentionally better. If we still havent' made the NIT in 4 yeras then sure I'm onboard.

1st paragraph. Plenty of mid major coaches would still want to come here. Bigger pay, bigger NIL, power 5, etc

2nd paragraph. Disagree, I think portal guys care WAY more about how much you can pay them and how much they will be playing. They are trying to get to the NBA or squeeze as much money out of college NIL as they can. Doubt they care (ignoring the blueblood programs who do have pull obviously) who they play for or play with.

3rd paragraph. If those guys stick around, sure it's a good base, but if Silas and Blue leave then what? I get that's a hypothetical but if we miss the NIT, would you blame them for leaving? Silas is from NC and Blue for Tennessee.

Paragraph 4. Getting a 4th year after not making the NIT in 3 years would be decision mcgarity would be proud of.

Churn these frickers in and out until we find a Nate Oats and then throw the bag at him.

If White is fired in 3 years then Josh Brooks is officially on the clock as this was his big hire.

White is getting better each year. We need a coach who can build a culture here for long term success and wont happen with a revolving door or trying to catch lightning. We unfortunately have a brand that isn’t terrible, but not great either. As a many decades fan, I have seen it happen twice and both times it faded as quickly. I know w can do what Auburn and UT have done. It’s attainable.
