Could the O slow start partly be Beck?

I'm not talking about his performance. But his lack of emotion. He always looks sleepy. Doesn't seem to vocal. To go with that it was either Pate or the On3 guy that said Kirby always talks about composure. Could they be to composed? Would make sense there always seems to be a lack of energy and emotion early on.

Could be…be you can’t tell that solely by his demeanor.

It has nothing, absolutely nothing with all of the starters missing time and having to play a WR at RB. Nothing. Nothing at all.

The issue is execution. Period. Beck has missed some early throws. Receivers have run some routes where they weren’t exactly where he thought they’d be. OL has missed blocks. As the game goes on, we’ve adjusted to the flow and gotten crisper. Also, especially against Auburn, we didn’t feed that 19 guy much, but then we did.

Our quarterback is too composed. Damn. Never thought about that angle.

I haven't gone back to verify but, from memory, we consistently start out conservative as frick. Typically run the ball, maybe a lil' bubble screen...short yardage types of plays.
Back in the day, with Stet and Fromm, we would take deep shots early, sometimes even a flea flicker on the first play of the game.
Point being, the slow starts are kind of pre-determined by the scripts of the first drive or two. I get the feeling they don't trust Beck to come out and take shots when he's cold or not yet in rhythm. I'd like to think that that will change as he gets more experience and builds more trust.
