definitely, which is why y’all should consider what I’m saying is true.. it isn’t to prop Texas up and make them look better.. I call it like I see it.

Bryce Young is better than Milroe.. no question
I just think this Alabama team is better than last years team.. but maybe i’m wrong

We are better defensively and that's no doubt. Offensive line is improving. Milroe is the key though. If Milroe plays at the level he has against the Mississippi schools we will lose. If Milroe truly has improved and can read defenses we win. Or, if Milroe is pulled for Simpson or Lonergan we will win.

I'm still not convinced that Durkin won't do something stupid like play three down linemen.

I agree. When Alabama scored on us, it was because we went into contain mode, daring him to throw.. and sure enough.. he can throw

You have to keep the pressure on him. The spy has to be quick enough to at least slow him down. Give up 10-20 yard runs occasionally.. just don’t break. Make them kick field goals.

fine. ok, i’ll ask you after the game then we played them last year too, you know

Absolutely. I’ll own it if I am wrong. But Johnson’s performance last year was more a factor of not having an offensive coordinator that coached to his skills. It’s why all our QBs underperforming and why Jimbo was told he would hire an OC.

We are scoring on average 21 more points than last year. It’s not just about QB. It’s about routes running correctly, backs blocking. OL protection. It all has to happen for a QB to perform and you have to use the skills the QB has.

Jimbo made QBs fit his system. Petrino adapts his system to the QB.

Johnson will execute fine. Our OL will be fine.

Giving Milroe man to man coverage is probaly what Bama wants A&M to do. He struggles mightily against zone coverage and in terms of passing reads he is more effective against man and it opens up his best attribute as a passer - the deep ball against man coverage He can also burn a blitz with his legs if the blitz is undisciplined. Will be an interesting decision for A&M d-coordinator.

I imagine Durkin is going to game plan for Milroe fairly similar to how he did for KJ Jefferson. Pig only got 174 total yards and 86 of that came on two plays. One was a short pass on a 3rd and 10 late in the 1st that Rocket Sanders took 38 yards and led to a FG early in the 2nd. The other was a 48 yard TD on a 3rd and 10 w/about 4 minutes left in the 4th when the score was 34-16 and the game was basically over.

apples to oranges though..

I believe Alabama is better
I believe A&M is better

Scoring more points is a funny thing though..
it doesn’t always translate the way you think it would.

See Lincoln Riley.

You are putting your defense on the field more when you score more.. which makes them tired as the game goes on.. which makes it easier to score more against them.

I feel like we have scored a lot less (opinion, haven’t looked it up) this year in the 1st half
than we did last year, and I think it is intentional. We also rotate our defense A LOT, hoping they will still be fresh in the 4th. I expect OU to run hurry up so that we can’t do that as much this week.

Finding the right balance is the key. We will all find out a lot about each of the 4 teams this weekend.

You didn’t even watch the Arkansas game, said you aren’t watching this one, and are openly rooting for us to lose the rest of the way over on our board. Why should anyone care about your analysis of A&M as a team right now?

I'm Bama to the bone but we won't beat A&M with a QB who only has the deep ball, has until this point shown himself to be turnover prone, and his ability to read defenses is spotty at best.

You do realize that A&M has only had one offensive TD scored on them in SEC play right?

LSU had several. Bama has had several. A&M has had one.

Uno. 1.

But keep hoping for us to lose. It’s not happening at Kyle.

The Texas gameplan and pressure against Milroe was ideal, and really paid off in the 4Q.

A quick aside, but I have to laugh at the two posters who seem to reflexively downvote any and all posts by someone with an A&M avatar.

It's like an Aggie could post "Puppies are cute" and these jackwagons would downvote it on spec.

I'm not openly rooting for us to lose. I'm expecting it to happen.

I expect losses to UT, OM, and LSU at a minimum. SC will be interesting. I'm thinking 7-5 or 8-4 is the most likely outcome. Fisher is a terrible, terrible gameday coach. I still expect him to try and inject himself in the offense at some point this season. I do watch replays on YouTube. Auburn and Arkansas QB's both missed some seriously wide open receivers.

And no, I don't watch the games. Better for my health.

So you cherry pick stuff and make conclusions from limited research. Gotcha.

I watch the games after the fact. All of them are available on YouTube, usually with the commercials cut out.

A&M is incredibly vulnerable to a good QB. They have played one to date. OM and Lane's scheme will tear the secondary a new one. I expect the same in Tennessee. LSU cannot stop anyone, but Daniels will throw for a gazillion yards against these CB's. They just aren't very good.
