This aired on Alabama PTV the other night, but you can watch it here too. It's a movie about Pat Dye and it's about two hours long, filled with interviews from those who knew him. Have a kleenex.

Good to hear from you ‘82!!
Give the folks on the old Board my regards.
…and for a VERY special few?…tell ‘em I said “Go frick Yourself”
I’m sure you know me well enough that I entrust that you’ll pass along that message to the appropriate respective parties to whom I refer.
Thanks for the heads up on “Mighty”. If YOU recommend it, you know I’m gonna have to check it out.
In the meantime?…if you only have a couple of minutes to spare?…and you have a box of Kleenex nearby?
…this Pat Dye speech STILL brings me to tears every time I hear it:

I'm sure you will enjoy it, SCDB. As for the Supper Club, you may be gone, but the legend survives -- and you are welcome back anytime.
As for the VERY special few, they must be VERY busy fricking themselves, because we never see them any more. Funny how that worked out.

I miss that board also but no way I'm paying to be governed like that.

Miss you too Beehive -- and how are things out beehive way? Now that the dump (RIP) is gone, I don't make it out that way as often.

Referring to ol’ RedArrow?

I miss the ol’ board too; especially its peak from back in the mid 2000’s. Does anyone have some of the classics- corn dog thread in particular? Surely it’s archived somewhere. That’s pure American history.

Personally, I think we should bring back the Toomers board- or for nostalgia’s sake start a meme thread and see how big it can get.

She lived here in NYC in the 90s. Fall Saturdays a group of 20-something year old Auburn alums would meet at a sports bar (The Sporting Club, long gone now) to watch the game, then usually head over to Red Rock West (a cowboy bar (also long gone) where girls were invited to dance on the bar, bras of former customers draped over the rafters, and the music ranged from Metallica to Hank, Jr.) until about something-something a.m.
Good times, boy.

I don't have any threads from the old board, but I was there while it lasted. I would have been a member 20 years in January if it hadn't gone belly up.
Damn. The Supper Club, gone. The Sporting Club, gone. Red Rock West, gone. The old board, gone. My youth, gone.
Think I'll go pour one out now...

Yep- I was a member since 2002, really was a member of its predecessor since like 2000. Oh well, nothing is guaranteed but change, death and taxes. Glad to see some of the vets over here.

It's getting hectic. Roundabouts popping up, subdivisions, putting the trash in a fancy plastic container by the road for a truck to pick up, ain't like it used to be for sure

Hell Wanda was just as happy drinking and stripping on the second level at VictoryLand between races

This is a great documentary. Highly recommend.
The second hour about his life, the man, the legacy and passing was sad as hell. Hit hard.
