Something we can all agree on: New Clock Rules blow

They literally took football time to give us more commercials. The entire LSU/Arkansas first half was nearly done in one hour of real time with the majority of time being commercials.
I pray they rethink this but I know they won’t.

All the big television companies forcing the broadcasters to say nice things about the new rules is hilarious too. They were talking about it during a game week two and it sounded like an ESPN Exec had a gun to the announcer’s head when he was complimenting it

Well, they can do what they did for Alabama Saturday. Three times they didn't start the play clock while Saban ran in players and the QB changed the play.

Agree. Terrible decision. More commercials equals less football but the same or more time overall.
But if they are going to keep it, then make the last 5 minutes of the fourth quarter under the old rules.

They gift wrapped it as a player safety issue. Instead it’s an advertising turd bucket.

We live in a world of advertisements. It won’t be long before we have to buy season passes like NFL games. Network subscriptions won’t be enough.

I had four games up at the same time last night. Its the only way to find a single game thats not in commercial and sometimes its all four at the same time.

This meme is for government, but applies equally to large corporations.

I would like to repeat a question posed today by one of the cfb youtubers I subscribe to. I was thinking the same thing and thought I was alone, until he said it.
It seems like the first half of games is flying by. But the second half drags out. But the clock rules for first and second half are the same. What's the deal with that?
Maybe it's me as a Georgia fan, not too much scoring in the first half, but lots in the second, and more commercial breaks when there's more scoring?

It also doesn’t help that it’s the same 5 commercials and they all suck.

The Auburn/atm game was still at half time when other games that started at 11 were halfway through the 3rd quarter.

The commercials are as horrid as they've always been. More of you are finally noticing. It's always been awful particularly after a TD, where it's 20 minutes before the next play.
I can't remember the last time I've sat and watched an entire game, I've got better stuff to do with my life than devote four hours to a game.

It's by far, the worst rule change in college football I have ever seen. Sad thing is, there is absolutely nothing the average everyday fan can do to reverse it. I might reach a point of no return and quit watching, then listen to the Dawgs on-line and try to catch the game or highlights of it being replayed on youtube. I get no enjoyment out of watching more commercials and less football.

Wonder if they’d consider going to a 35 second play clock like the NFL so at least we make up for the amount of lost plays.
