Right elbow comes across the helmet, that's going to be roughing every time. When going for quarterback, arms need to be down to avoid this.

we got called for a crucial ticky tack roughing against BYU where our players hands barely grazed the QB’s facemask so it was nice to get this one even though it could’ve gone either way especially in that situation on the road

Which fundamentally is the wrong thing to do every single time when rushing the QB. D-linemen have been taught since the beginning of time to keep your arms up in order to be able to bat down a pass.

So rushers are no longer supposed to even attempt to bat down a pass?
