Is it possible that Jalen threw the two bad picks because Proctor was giving away the pass

plays presnap?
Do either of those routes get jumped if Texas didn’t know we were passing?
They were still really bad mistakes but we should give Jalen a bit of a break since Texas new every time we were passing the ball.

I don't know about the first INT but the second one was a moronic play.
Milroe is NOT a pocket passer and he struggles with accuracy on intermediate routes so why the hell would you as an OC would you call max protect with only two route that aren't go or clearouts when their safeties are sitting on the intermediate stuff outside???
They didn't hide the fact they were running cover 2 a bunch but our OC literally did nothing to attack the middle of the field till the 4th quarter.
Milroe is limited but damn our OC didn't help him at all. He didn't help Ty Simpson either. Yet somehow he knew to throw a ton of screens and quicks with Buchner smh

I don’t think he trusted Milroe to throw a screen

I’d like to see if Milroe looks that limited without being hit so many times. He’s short passes are likely never going to be great this year but they looked way better in game 1. Also it’s hard to call plays and make passes when the defense knows it’s a pass or run play. There is no excuse for how bad of a game Tommy called this past Saturday though.

I don't think that's it.
On his second INT the safety looked at Milroe and saw he was looking to his right, so he just broke on that route. He completely ignored that Brooks was getting inside his guy and if Milroe had throw a corner route for Brooks it could have been a TD since there was no safety help there. I mean, the safety broke on the ball from more than 10 yards away. He knew only 2 guys were running a route and only 1 guy had a chance to get the ball.
Poor design by Rees on that one. Two man routes where one guy is not an option due to a limited QB is on the OC.

There is absolutely no way to sugarcoat those picks

But he trusted Buchner to throw screens at the water pipes?

I agree it was a bad pass. My point is, is that safety even in position to make that play if he doesn’t know we are passing presnap. It makes the game a lot easier on defense if the offense tells you before every play “we are running here or we are passing here.”

Buchner wasn’t making risky decision throws, so probably
Now whether he could hit the broadside of a barn is a different story

No. Jalen threw the two picks because he is a running back thrown in as a quarterback and actually being counted on to throw the ball rather than run wildcat.

God I wish I could zoom forward in time just to watch all of you armchair QBs with low football IQ eat crow. Lol

Haha. No I’ll be having a blast in three weeks when we are 5 and 1 with Arky headed to town because most of these armchair QBs will have come around by then. We will still have a few that will bitch all the way up until the playoffs.

I appreciate him for giving me something to look forward to in this desolate future

The routes don't get jumped if Milroe isn't locked in on the receiver from the snap. C'mon, man.

Did Proctor make him miss the two sure TDs on the RB wheel routes that he threw? Or the one to Bond that the WR had to stop for and come back to make an acrobatic catch in coverage rather than jogging into the end zone?

Your opinion could be correct but that running back is definitely better than the other two QB's.

Two separate problems. I think the defense can tell run or pass. It’s been a problem on and off for all of the Saban era. And it happens all the time in football. Completely different issue, Milroe’s tunnel vision got him picked off twice.
