My Thoughts on Knoxville

Went to the Austin Peay game this weekend and will return for the fAggies later on this season.
Knoxville is a fun town. Lots of great bars and stuff. We started off at Calhoun's and while it has a great vibe and stiff drinks, the barbecue was disappointing. We then went to the tailgate for NIL Vol Club (my brother is a supporter). Good times there but we were too late to get much food or drink. We then went to the stadium and lightning hit when everyone was in line so we headed to Saloon 16, Peyton Manning's bar at the Graduate Hotel. There were several cops at the entrance and what looked like few patrons at the bar, so to avoid the cop party we went to the actual hotel bar for a while. When the game came back on we went to the stadium and it was rocking. It's always jarring going to Neyland after having been at the much quieter Kenan Stadium for games. The crowd was rowdy and at the end of the game some guy threw his water and I got hit. He apologized but I was kinda pissed. Ended the night at Downtown Grill and Brewery which is amazing for food and drinks. All in all, great weekend and am looking forward to the A&M game. Neyland will be really crazy for that one.

Peyton's bar looked Western or something lol, because he's "the Sheriff" and all.

Downtown Knoxville has made a major comeback. It started with a marijuana trafficker buying up a bunch of old buildings and rehabbing them. Previously it was nothing but hobos and bankers and closed down after 5 o'clock in the afternoon.

Calhoun’s is a great atmosphere but the BBQ is not good.

This coming from an Aubie fan. Your campus is literally located in bum frick middle of nowhere near Opelika with absolutely nothing to do besides get drunk every day maybe. Your campus is an ugly flat little boring cow pasture ffs.

tRant will think you're trolling with this comment but it's actually 100 percent true. He wasn't the only one though but he was a major player. Always good when a dealer gives back to the community.

Just about any kind of BBQ is disappointing compared to Eastern North Carolina-style BBQ & sauce. My favorite!

TennerC is my favorite away game.

I wouldn’t go that far. It’s not bad, it’s just not great. Middle of the road Q imo.

Calhoun's is a good atmosphere with average food.

I was curious how many Top 10 Ugly campus lists Auburn has made through the years compared to Tennessee?
But I know Tennessee has made efforts to beautify the campus. In the latest list you were all the way down to #21. Congrats...

Next time you should hit up the food board for recommendations because those places aren’t where I or anyone else I know would recommend
There is much better food and beers around downtown Knoxville

My brother goes to 4-5 home games a year and those are places he wanted to go. DGB had great food BTW though Calhoun's was disappointing. We usually go all around Market Square, Gay Street, and Old City....and occasionally to the strip. This time we dropped in at Peyton's bar which was a disappointment FYI.
