All I want out of this season is improvement on D and Napier to realize he needs an OC to challenge him and his bullshite passing design.

So far I am really glad Toney went to the NFL. Even if the offense doesn't help a lot I highly doubt we see a lot of the mess we saw on defense last season. The LBs at least seemed to be covering gaps decent on most plays. We will see in the Tenn game this year but against TN and LSU last season it was crazy how lost the DBs were when playing zone.

This is our leader on our defense. He wears the coveted no. 1 jersey.

That was pretty bad. You can't count on someone else to make a tackle. Curious to see if he gets much pressure against Tennessee. Last time I remember a player doing that was Mullen's last year against SC.

Hey y’all. Life time Florida fan that went to Ole Miss here… I’m not looking for a magic number or score. Honestly I just wanna see us dominating both sides of the ball (as we should)

It cracks me up when guys pick a single play to critique and then want to act like they wAtCh FiLm.
He shouldn’t have given up at the end of the play, but his hips were already turned and it was too late by the time he realized the QB had kept it. He probably wasn’t making the tackle anyway. I’m sure he took some heat when they watched film, but to act like he’s trash over one play is truly moronic.

It's not just one play.
It cracks me up when people make excuses for entitled players who lack effort. It's one thing to get beat physically, it's quite another to lack effort and quit on the play. Which is clearly what happened here.
Did you happen to see his stat line vs. Utah? Pff stats

FIRE whoever is in charge of Special Teams.
or Demote them and put someone else in charge.
WTF is wrong with it.
Our Special Teams has been trash since McPhearson missed that FG attempt during the LS-Shoe game.

an OC because the play calling isn't working.
Napier scored more vs SEC opponents last yr than Dan the "offensive genius." did the yr prior.
He also set a school scoring record while OC at Clemson.
Maybe just maybe, our guys last yr werent very good and the guys this yr arent entirely on the same page in week 2.
We are starting 4 new OL with one being the backup Center. A WR that arrived in June and it seems the younger TEs have takin the jobs of the holdovers.
Im just sayin lots of new moving pieces, look for a gradual improvement over the season. If it fails by season end then yeah, make a change.

Unless something changed this year, no one is in charge of special teams, it is a joint effort of several coaches. If everyone is in charge, no one is in charge. The Gators need a special teams coach who is responsible.
I just checked the official site and there is no special team coach listed.

According to Swamp 247 posters, some guy named "Chris Couch" is in charge.
I think Napier calls it "GameChange" coordinator or some silly thing like that. The guy is surely changing the game in the other team's favor with his special team gaffes!

He isn't an on the field coach though is he? I think other coaches have that responsibility on the field with the players which may be leading to the screw ups. If true I blame Napier for thinking that was a wise move.

Or fire Napier for a rediculous special teams coaching setup.

I posted that after the putrid performance against Utah.
I don't disagree that Napier just might need time to figure it out.
I don't think he's a great offensive mind like Sark or Lane. Probably an average OC at best. But if you're going to wear the HC hat, being a playcaller/OC is a lot to take on, especially if it's not one of his biggest strengths.
I wouldn't mind seeing an OC to take some of the responsibility off Napier's plate during game day. Napier could still be involved in the offense. Just seems like a lot to take on.
But we'll see how it plays out over the season. Maybe Napier knows what he's doing. UL-Lafayette fans also largely doubted him his first two seasons.
