How long have you been a Bama fan?
Of course he will hit deep balls at an 80% clip.

100%. Why? Because we make no sense.

He's inconsistent. Couldn't hit the broadside of a barn last week past ten yards. This week, who knows? It's because his form isn't the best

He wasn't very good on deep balls any last season.
Except for one game.
Wanna guess what that one game was?

These threads in no way will possibly come back to haunt you all. LSU definitely didn't have any of their threads bumped this week from all their shite talk.

Mika Fitzpatrick Jr was still in HS last year for that game and Wild Turkey wont be calling the D this year

Dallas Turner sent Ewers out in the 1st quarter and came out in the 2nd quarter wearing street clothes. Hudson Card was slicing up the Pete Golding game plan.

Ewers was 9/12 for 134 yards (11.2 YPA) and led them to 10 pts in 2 drives (5.0 Pt Per Dr). And that doesn't include the PI penalties that we got on long throws.
Card was 14/22 158 yards (7.2 YPA) and led them to 9 pts in 10 drives (0.9 Pt Per Dr).
Ewers carved up Pete's gameplan. Card (on 1 leg) did very little.

Agree, but go back and watch the throws Ewers made against us last year. They weren't to wide open dudes who we lost in space. They were dimes to covered guys. One to the sideline to Worthy. One down the field to the 1 yard line to Worthy that was beautifully covered by Khyree Jackson.
And he wasn't very good at that at any other point last season consistently. But he was against us.

He went full Stephen Garcia on us for a quarter last year, but lets not pretend like he isn't working with NFL guys at WR.
Texas will put up some points Saturday.

He had the lead until the final seconds. Card was doing just fine. As far as ewers, when you continue to throw the long ball you have to sit in the pocket. The long ball takes time and time is what Dallas Turner needed when he got home.
I'll add, the threat of Robinson and Johnson in the running game bought Ewers the looks downfield. I don't see those looks coming as readily this time.

I was impressed with Card because he was basically playing on 1 leg. He played his guts out. But they were much less effective on offense once Ewers went out. Sark drew up a ton of max protect stuff in that game last year that neutralized Will, but also gave Dallas some opportunities on the other side. Be curious how we respond to that this year, as it sounds like they'll have similar blocking issues.
But the biggest thing is he made elite deep throws to well covered one on ones downfield. He has the ability to do that, just hasn't done it very consistently. And he's got a ton of weapons out there to work with. On the other hand, we are without question a better pass coverage team on the backend this year than we were week 2 of last year (when Khyree Jackson was still starting).

Maybe he catches lightening in a bottle 2x against us but I doubt it. I wish Key and Moore were 100% this week but I really like this team. Lawson finna eat and I pray Ewers floats a few for Downs to track over the middle.

He'll look like Tom Brady against Bama.

He was atrocious. Three should have been TDs. Under throwing WRs and just missing guys by leading them out of bounds instead of into the field.
