The insane correlation between " we are going to beat the heck out of FSU" and the purple players saying, "We thought this was going to be easy" is much, much, much, much, much, closer than what most Cajuns think.

With coaches and politicians being interviewed constantly, they are bound to misspeak on occasion. For him to say that is out of character for the way he handles himself in the past and now. My guess is what he meant to say was: "we are going there with a bunch of freshmen and transfers who have never played at this level, I am not saying that as a disclaimer or excuse if we lose, we still plan on fighting like hell to win the game."
The words did not come out that way, he never meant it that way and therefore doesn't recall saying it. My guess is, that is why Fla St continued to try to score when they could have gone into victory formation. I doubt you will hear any more statements like that in the future - I am sure he will be more careful when choosing his words.
