I don't care if Hugh Freeze is the best QB coach in the universe and Phillip Mkntgomery had coached 10 Heisman winning QBs. Robby Ashford is not a good QB. He has had ample time to improve and he has shown minimal improvement.

Have we really seen enough evidence yet to know that he has only shown minimal improvement as a passer? I've seen him throw 6 passes so far this year and, while they weren't great throws, I don't think that is a large enough sample size to draw any conclusions. I don't think the fact that he didn't beat out a seasoned 2 year P5 starter in Fall practice is evidence that he can't become a starter himself one day either.

The only point I've been making in this thread is that I think that it is too soon to give up on him.

Jesus Christ dude we arent coaches. What we can do is speculate anything.

That starter isnt that special so getting beat out does say a bit. He was about to lose his own job but he came to Auburn because we needed a QB.

What quality QB would Ashford need to compete against to actually win a spot?
Finley and Thorne both beat him out. Our expectations and Robby's expectations would be conflicting as hell if we wanted our QB room to get better while Robby needs the QB room as mediocre as ever.

That slant pass to Fair was a great throw. And he threw a back shoulder throw to Burton that hit him in the chest, and he dropped it. He also hit the WR screens quickly and in good position for them to turn and run. Ashford won’t ever be a great passer. He just needs to be good enough. His running ability will make up for the rest.

He is on a D1 scholarship for the 3rd year and he can not even throw a damn screen pass. Yes , we have seen enough

The guy is not going to just all the sudden be a passer. If he hasnt learned by now ,he isnt going to learn
