I read somewhere that each camera is roughly $350k to setup to broadcast 4k. Take that times the amount of cameras for each game and I see why.

The numbers could be way off as I just heard that off hand

Yes that is expensive. Football and sports in general are also the single most lucrative broadcast rights in the world. Update your shite.

Those numbers are way off. Commercial 8K sports-quality broadcast cameras are around $50K, with some lenses costing almost as much.

Peanuts for a major media company, though.

Fox shoots at 1080p and upscales it to 4K.
