Kirby spoke today(247 link below). They’ll start practicing tomorrow.

What are y’all excited about? What position battles are you looking forward to most? Post reports and rumors. Let this be the “official” preseason fall camp thread.

I'm looking forward to see how the running back committee shakes out.

Ditto for our shiny, new wide receiver room

I want Beck to leave no doubt. I'm team Gunnar but if Beck is going to be the guy I hope they make him earn it. I'm sure they are.

I hope a young buck steps up and takes Chaz' role. I've seen enough of him getting stonewalled. Seems like a good guy, but we have to have something better.

Excited to see if Luckie can build off his great Spring too.

Edit: just saw Carson has a new buzz cut. Gives me more confidence in him already.

This is truly the only position out of 22 I'm concerned about. He's physical but the dropoff from Nolan to him was gargantuan. I know it's a ton of youth behind him but surely someone is capable

I’m not worried. The young guys will do well. Damon Wilson is an elite talent and (from reports of summer) Gabe Harris is expected to be the most game ready.

Then there’s Darris Smith who I expect to contribute heavily.

I think Chaz is better than he is getting credit.

I actually think he can get action in the NFL.

But I get it...Chaz can get a sack on 75% of our schedule. It's getting pressure in those other 25% of games that determines if we are undefeated or 1 loss .

Forgot about Darris. I'm excited about him too. He seems freakish if he can harness it all.

I’m excited about Mykel Williams. I expect huge things from him. Also excited to hear reports on the young talent, especially Damon Wilson who I believe will play a ton.

I don’t have fond memories of going to Fall camp at the end of July

What… you mean to tell me you don’t miss sweating your nuts off and IV’s after every practice

Saw yesterday where Kirby had high praise for Cash Jones. Said he might be the fastest back we got and maybe the strongest p4p player on the team. Looks like he may be getting some touches until Milton is back 100%.

We had to show up in shape and be able to run 2 miles at a good pace. If we didnt make the time, you had to run it before practice until you made the time. We had an early AM practice and an afternoon practice and weights around lunch. It was all day football for 2 weeks and a grind. It seemed like a year. Lots of full pads and contact. Amy scrapes, cuts or turf burns you got would not heal.

Brooks Austin said back in spring to watch for Cash being this year’s Kenny Mac because he’s clearly the best pass catching rb

Kirby said he was pound for pound the strongest player on the team. That said, I doubt we see him much. But you never know.

Who was the incoming RB that was supposed to be an absolute speedster?

Roderick Robinson is the only Fr. Le’Neth Whitehead is coming in too but he’s not the “absolute speedster” type.

Maybe its for next year. Can't hardly keep them all in line.

Roderick will have a big career.

Dwight Phillips Jr. 5’10” 170. Arian Smith type speed. He’s a 2024 class guy.
